The total cost of the program (including tuition, hotels, food, tours) is about $3500 per student. This amount is covered by Lassonde/BEST. You are only responsible for your airfare (and souvenirs) which is estimated to be $1200 (of which $500 will be paid by York International). This means your total cost is $700, and we would like you to pay a $300 deposit so we can book the flights at this rate – last year the cost rose to $1600 nearer the departure).
Students have the option to take this program as a 3-credit course (MECH 3033), if so, they are required to pay for the tution at Lassonde for taking a 3-credit course.
The course consists of pre-travel workshops, interactive lessons and workshops on location (Both on the campus of academic partners and through site visits to companies, incubators and investors). In addition, students will be required to work extensively in groups on developing a technology solution to an important problem, and make final presentation to local investors and entrepreneurship support organizations. Following the international trip, students must participate in workshops and presentations at Lassonde, to share the lessons learned both with professors and each other.
