Our institutions need to be preparing graduates for increasingly dynamic future workplaces, in which they will be expected to “work with knowledge that doesn’t yet exist, using practices that don’t yet exist, in job roles that don’t yet exist”. This capability needs to be developed as a complement to more traditional learning outcomes – both in specific subject-area skills and in across-the-curriculum generic capabilities.

Our organizational partners in the corporate, government and social sectors recognize the need for a workforce with capability to engage effectively with workplace innovation, developing innovative products, services, practices, structures and enterprise models. This requirement for an Innovation-Enabled Workforce applies equally to entry-level new graduates from higher education and to continuing development of the current workforce through employer-led training.
